allotment attire

While Teddington may have looked like this just a few days ago...

and I'm still bundled up in my scarf, we're already thinking ahead to spring allotmenting. This of course means planting plans, compost, and seeds. But it also means new wellies (my old Hunters have finally fallen to pieces) and new his-and-hers tees,

because everything--even digging--is more fun when you're wearing a fab tee!

  1. Your tee-shirt is adorable! You must be planning on warm weather though . . . or do you just layer?

I found a huge bag of bulbs that I never got around to planting in November. It's difficult, at the moment, to imagine that I will want to be in the garden anytime soon.

p.s. I didn't know that a person could wear out her Hunter wellies! I assumed they lasted forever.

  2. My wellies have a hole coming. But I am soldiering on and hanging out for those Ilse Jacobson ones when I make it to Petersham. Let's hope they still stock them (and that my saved pennies will stretch that far!)

I just can't settle for anything else since I fell in love with them.

  3. We've been planning this week too! The bulbs are coming through and our plot may even be dry enough for me to venture up later this week. I'm a bit nervous as to what I'll find - hopefully kale & chard at the very least! There's a vicious wind that blows across and is keeping me away just yet ...

  5. How can I procure one of those t-shirts?!?!?! Ultra fab.

Wish we had bulb action here, but it's too soon. I'll live vicariously through y'all. And my wellies have no hole, but are cheapo Target numbers that seriously hurt my feet if I wear them for actual walking. Guess you get what you pay for...

  6. I have big plans to get back on my plot this year - it has been terribly neglected. Luckily, I have a friend who is willing to share the workload and reap the rewards, of course!

  10. How brave you are - I can't bear to think about my allotment yet. Too much mud and desolation....

  13. Haha, that is awesome. I definitely have a huge case of allotment envy (or I would, if I was even remotely talented at gardening)!
