on parade, take two

G specially requested a pair of brown hand-knitted socks for our anniversary. So it's rather hard to explain how I ended up with a pair of brown hand-knitted socks:

Obviously the pull of the Parade pattern and Quince yarn (in Driftwood) was just too great!

But G did get a pair too. And it was actually quite nice having two sock projects on the go: no second sock syndrome. Though I suppose you could develop third or fourth sock syndrome...

My feet (frozen from sea swimming) feel so much cozier just looking at those gorgeous socks.

Ooh, such a lovely neutral shade! I'm convinced that Parade is the perfect 'go to' pattern. It suits both sexes and looks great in any colour. You're putting me to shame on productivity though!

Oops... feeling very guily that my Parade socks haven't made it past the heel of the first one. Must get back to them before the weather turns too chilly.

they're fab!

wasn't it the right brown for G?

I think it's classic and sophisticated...

These socks just look so nice! Oh and so many different ice creams you’ve made – inspires me as I usually just go for what was great so far…

Having seen your Parades (and Monica's in progress) I'm thinking I really must venture forth from my stockinette only sock routine. Would you recommend the pattern?
