It's the same thing with me, including with spinach and radishes; good intentions, every year, sometimes a second sowing after a week, then total amnesia....
What has worked for me though, is planting salad leaves in the now-redundant (since we got wheelie bins) black recycling box positioned at the back door. Easy to remember to water, re-sow, cut-and-come-again moments before a meal, and to my surprise, a strip of copper tape round the box seems to be working, as the snails haven't bothered with it at all. Not exactly allotment gardening, but handy!
Your lettuces look beautiful! We can't really re-sow here because it's too hot now for salad greens to be happy. Ah, well -- bring on the tomatoes and corn on the cob!
We planted lettuce in pots on our back porch in February and they produced all the salads, etc. we needed for months! It was great & I loved not having to buy those expensive bags of organic lettuce which usually go bad before we finish them off. I'm afraid it's too hot here to resow now, but maybe I'll try again in a shadier place?
