petersham in pink

Petersham wasn't all grays and greens this weekend. There were plenty of pinks, too: in the Murano glass,

in the mercury glass,

and in my cheeks, when, in the narrow passageway between the Nurseries and River Lane, we ran into Valentine Warner.

I was struck dumb and just smiled inanely. But silence was probably better than any of the silly and embarrassing things I could--and probably would--have said!

  1. Love seeing all that pink when it's so grey out!

  3. Hmm, did you pop him in your shopping bag?

Mercury glass again - Kristina, what are you doing to me?

  4. Hmmm, I have something hanging in my hallway that I might have to watch you don't sneak into your bag...

    NOT Valentine Warner, btw!

  6. Beautiful photos! The mercury glass is amazing. I'm afraid I don't know who he is but i'm hopeless at celebrities so that's no great surprise! Sounds like a successful trip to Petersham all round :)

  7. Oh dear, I hadn't even heard of him... but I can see why he might have caused a blush!

  8. ok so I didn't know at all about mercury glass before your posts, but I can see it could be addictive.
I might have dragged Mr Warner home to cook my dinner

  9. You are lucky about the inane smile! I bumped into an actor shortly after seeing him in a wonderful performance, and I was knocked for a total loop. The goofy words that fell out of my mouth make me blush even NOW...and that was two years ago!

  11. I wonder how he got the name Valentine? I didn't know who he was, but I recognized his cookbook covers (no doubt from Waitrose shelf perusals). Do you have any of his cookbooks?

As for pink Murano glass, isn't it funny how you can never have (or at least covet) enough vases?

  12. Hi there,

Do you run a knit group in Teddington? Think I saw that somewhere and I've just moved to the area.

Let me know if you do!
