Just five ingredients weighed into a saucepan and five minutes of bubbling and stirring produce over a pint of liquid heaven. Poured on warm, it quickly sets into lovely gooey strings:
It apparently keeps for months in the fridge, but I don't think ours will be around that long!

ReplyDeleteI used to make this when MasterM and MissM were arguing. It glued their teeth together so that they could not argue and by the time they had unglued their teeth the sugar had improved their mood.

ReplyDeletewhen i was at boarding school there would occasionally be icecream with toffee sauce for pudding, it was literally the highlight of the term! so, it has a real place in my heart.

ReplyDeleteSticky toffee sauce is simply sublime, especially with Mackie's Dairy ice cream. JHS deserves lots of sticky kisses for this delightful desert!
ReplyDeleteI was just planning to make some ice cream sauces - I only keep vanilla in the house and the troops are starting to complain!
ReplyDeleteI fear it would be too dangerous to make such a wonderful confection. I would eat it by the spoonful and dispense with the ice cream!I daren't open a tin of condensed milk for the same reason.
ReplyDeleteThat toffee sauce is my current favourite thing. So good and quick. It does indeed seem to keep for ages in spite of large quantities poured over ice-cream and occasionally just spooned straight from jar to mouth.
