breakfast at tiffany's

Today Jaye and I went ice skating at Somerset House.

Here is Jaye in her skates, very sensibly wearing two pairs of socks:

And here I am, wearing only one pair of socks and losing feeling in my toes!

It was blisteringly cold, but the snow flurries that began just as we skated out onto the ice--followed by sparkly sunshine--made it all quite magical.

We had our very own Breakfast at Tiffany's in the rink-side cafe complete with strong Illy coffee and the most amazing biscotti:

And I even brought home a Tiffany souvenir baked by the Hummingbird Bakery:

I'm certainly not above a little corporate sponsorship when it makes for such a lovely day out!

  2. Perhaps anything would be tasty in a Tiffany & Co paper cup, but certainly illy is extra lovely. Yum!

  4. Looks like lots of fun. Mind you, we could have skated on the pavements here today - lots of falling over!

  5. What a lovely outing! That coffee and biscotti look like just the thing needed after a turn on the rink. Would you believe that some boys who play hockey here wear NO socks in their skates - shocking, I know!

  9. Much like Riverdancing, I also excel at ice-skating. It's a wonder to behold. People stare open-mouthed, when they witness me performing my graceful ice-dance routine.

The most popular move I perform is called, "The Wounded Swan," followed closely by, "Baby Bird Learns to Fly."

Of course, my real powers lie in the devouring of pastries...of which small blue cupcakes count.

    Looks like a fun day!

  12. I remember ice skating with you last year, K, and I had SO much fun despite the cold. You definitely had better treats this time around, though.

Sorry that I've been lax about checking your blog. I'll do better moving forward---especially given that I feel so INSPIRED after reading your posts!

BTW, I have been sampling wedding cake, and I keep wishing you were with me to help me make my selection. You are a cake GURU!
